EVENTS 

1) Video Reactions

Objective: Sharing the cultures of the various Student Chapters and as a fun   event, also enjoy and make the bonding stronger.

Rules:

  • Each sister chapter represents one team;
  • Each sister chapter has to share famous and funny scenes or videos that were made in that country and the reaction to it;
  • No political issues should be selected as a topic for the video/scene;
  • Video clipping should not be more than 30 sec;
  • Points shall be rewarded on the basis of: humour, creativity and content.

How can it be organized:

  • It can be organized online where the participants would submit their entries through email;
  • SCS would judge the entries and could rate them through google forms;
  • Participation certificate would be provided to all;
  • Top 3 posts shall be shared on the AIChE ESC Instagram channel.

2) Video game competition

Objective: To strengthen the bond between the sister chapter matches.

Rules of the event:

  • A short clip (30 seconds) of the gameplay should be sent to the sister chapter subcommittee.

How can it be organized:

  • The sister chapter matches are required to choose a video game as per their convenience;
  • The members will pair up in teams;
  • It is recommended that a team should consist of members from both the student chapters of a sister chapter match rather than considering it as one chapter competing against another;
  • This event will help the members of the sister chapter matches to connect and get to know each other.

3) Dance Night 

Objective: Fun event to bridge the gap between members of sister chapter matches.

Rules of the event:

  • Only popular and well-known songs should be used for dance night;
  • Minimum 5 songs should be allotted by both the chapters in the sister chapter match;
  • The recording of the video call should be sent to the sister chapter subcommittee.

How can it be organized?

  • The sister chapter matches are required to meet on a video call;
  • A student chapter will provide a song link to its sister chapter match chapter on the spot;
  • The student chapter members provided with the song can listen it once (it is recommended to play the song on the conference call itself);
  • The song will be played second time and now the members are required to dance on it.

4) Slangs Dictionary 

Objective: To understand and learn about a new culture.

Rules of the event:

  • Minimum 10 slangs should be exchanged by both the chapters in the sister chapter match;
  • Offensive and abusive slangs are to be avoided;
  • The recording of the video call should be sent to the sister chapter subcommittee.

How can it be organized?

  • The sister chapter matches are required to prepare a list of slangs in their            native language;
  • Schedule a meet on a video call;
  • The members from a sister chapter match will speak slangs in their native language and the members from the other student chapter will try to guess the meaning of the same;
  • After the guess the slang should be explained, and the members can have a short discussion on it.

5) Movie Exchange

Objective: Interests exchange for a more relatable and social relations with the sister chapters.

Rules:

  • Each sister chapter represents one team;
  • Each sister chapter has to share top 3 movies from their members to another sister chapter;
  • No extreme political issues or religion movies;
  • In a zoom meeting they interact and discuss the theme and favorite parts of the movie;
  • Points will be rewarded to the best movie chosen from the best theme explanation and reactions (if preferred by the participating sister chapter or by the subcommittee).

6) Memento Exchange

Objective: Every sister chapter buys a memento of respective country and send it to another by courier, for a cultural exchange.

Rules:

  • Each sister chapter represents one team (groups of 3);
  • Each sister has to share a memento specific to their country and culture;
  • Not expensive, every group will set their limit;
  • Every sister chapter has to share their courier specifications;
  • Points will be awarded to creativeness;
  • When every group has their memento, they will make a video call and discuss it.

7) Testing your Knowledge about my country (Culture Quiz)

Objective: Improve the knowledge about the culture of our sister chapter to familiarize themselves with them and learn about their cultural aspects.

Rules:

  • Each sister chapter represents one team;
  • Each sister chapter has to create a Kahoot about their cultural aspects. In that game, they must include the most representative cultural aspects. You will be able to ask about your traditions, important dates, festivals, food, etc. (15 questions);
  • You have to create a video call with your sister chapter. Both must turn on their cameras all the game;
  • Each sister chapter must answer the Kahoot of the other team without the help of the internet;
  • All team members must play the Kahoot at the same time, the score of the member with the highest score of each team will be taken (Participants from the same team can help each other. This is a strategy game).

How can it be organized:

  • Each sister chapter have to organize their meeting;
  • You must attach screenshots of your meeting and the scores;
  • The winning team will be published on the ESC networks.

Note: Both teams must get in touch to organize a virtual meeting (meet, zoom, etc.) and follow the rules.

8) Night Quiz (Culture Quiz)

Objective: Spend a nice time asking questions of anything

Rules:

  • Each sister chapter represents one team;
  • Each sister chapter has to create a Kahoot about all aspects. (15 questions);
  • You have to create a video call with your sister chapter. Both must turn on their cameras all the game;
  • Each sister chapter must answer the Kahoot of the other team without the help of the internet;
  • All team members must play the Kahoot at the same time, the score of the member with the highest score of each team will be taken (Participants from the same team can help each other. This is a strategy game).

  • Each sister chapter have to organize their meeting;
  • You must attach screenshots of your meeting and the scores;
  • The winning team will be published on the ESC networks.

9) Recipes exchange

Objective: Share cooking recipes and discover the gastronomic culture of other countries

Rules:

  • Each sister chapter represents one team.
  • Each sister chapter has to share a typical recipe of their country, the ingredients and the preparation between them. It should be an easy cooking recipe to prepare, with ingredients easy to find anywhere in the world, (milk, eggs, flour, sugar, etc.)
  • Each sister chapter must create a video call to share their experience with the food recipe there must be at least 5 participants from each student chapter who have made the cooking recipe, this is to improve the share experience.
  • The recipe must be shared in a word or PDF file with the ingredients and the way of preparation. The cooking recipe must be submitted one week before video call so teams have time to get ingredients
  • All participants must share their process of cooking the recipe they must comment on if they like the taste and preparation of the recipe.

How can it be organized:

  • Each sister chapter have to organize their meeting;
  • They must attach screenshots of your meeting and the scores;
  • Photos of prepared food recipes should be sent, the best par of recipes will be published on the ESC networks.

10) Karaoke night

Objective: Have a fun night where the sister chapters have the opportunity to sing and learn typical songs from other countries.

Rules:

  • Only popular and well-known songs should be used for dance night;
  • Minimum 3 songs should be allotted by both the chapters in the sister chapter match;
  • They have to create a video call with between them sister chapters. Both must turn on their cameras all the activity.

How can it be organized?

  • Each sister chapter have to organize their meeting;
  • Each student chapter will provide a playback song link to its sister chapter match chapter on the spot;
  • The student chapter members provided with the playback song can listen to it once.

Note: Both teams must get in touch to organize a virtual meeting (meet, zoom, etc.) and follow the rules

11) SCS Jeopardy

Objective: To imbibe team building skills between sister chapters.

Guidelines:

  • Traditional jeopardy with three rounds, but the only difference is that it won’t be technical. The sister chapters will be a part of the same team;
  • More than one team can come from a sister chapter pair.

Rules:

  • The first round will have five categories. Each category will have five questions comprising 100 points to 500 points. The host will ask the first question and the team that answers first gets that particular amount of points. For example, if a question is set for 300 points, the team that answers it gets those points. However, if they answer it incorrectly, the team will have 300 points taken. Once a team answers a question, they can select any category and question as they would prefer.
  • The second round is the same but the only difference is that instead of 100-500 points, the questions will be 500-1000 points.
  • In the last round, there will be simply one question. However, before the question is displayed, each team can bet a certain amount of points. If they get the question right, they will win double those points but if it incorrect, those points will be deducted.
