The Department of Energy Savannah River Site has excelled at putting (We put to Science to Work?) science to work through the extensive research and development activities conducted by the Savannah River Laboratories and other national laboratories (e.g. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Oakridge Ridge National Laboratory, Idaho National Laboratory). Large nuclear waste treatment processes have been developed, designed, constructed and operated with an impressive safety record. This presentation covers the nearly thirty years of process development and project management activities at the Savannah River Site and provides a look into the future activities that are planned for the site.
