As we become increasingly aware of the ubiquity and variability of contaminants in natural systems, stakeholders in industry, government, and academia are united by their urgent need for robust, rapid, and low-cost methods to detect low concentrations of contaminants in complex matrices. The goal of this session is to highlight the latest research in scalable novel sensors and assay systems with the potential for high-resolution or in situ detection of pathogens, emerging contaminants, and toxic contaminant mixtures in aqueous systems.
