Interfacial Phenomena in Non-Aqueous Liquids

Chair(s)

Mineart, K., Bucknell University

Co-chair(s)

Schneider, J., Carnegie Mellon University

This session deals with experimental and theoretical studies of interfacial science in non-aqueous systems. The term non-aqueous is intended broadly and may include ionic liquids, organic solvents, etc. Specific topics will include thermodynamics of interfaces; intermolecular and interparticle interactions; charging processes in solution and on surfaces; surface forces; contact angle phenomena and wetting; adsorption and desorption; surface modification; self- and directed- assembly; emulsions, micelles, and foams; thin films; and applications.
