Wednesday, April 26, 2006 - 8:00am to 10:00am
The AFCEE Technology Transfer Outreach Office developed Restoration PBM Draft Guidance that was successfully tested at DoD sites. PBM restoration incorporates, in its framework, well recognized and accepted business practices and value engineering techniques such as streamlined or accelerated site characterization (i.e, Triad), Remedial Process Optimization (RPO), development of a definitive exit strategy based on attainable Applicable or Relevant and Appropriate Requirements (ARARs), and risk management based on future land use. PBM also promotes performance-based restoration, including MMRP and low-level radiological waste, by procuring services through performance-based contracts.
This course will provide in depth coverage of each component of PBM as well as case studies where the concepts were applied.
