(4b) Reduction of CO2 Emissions in a Refinery (Webcast Not Available)

CO2 Emissions may be reduced in a refinery in a variety of manner. The presentation will focus on optimizing the Utilities and Offsites related equipment, both inside and outside the process unit battery limits. Topics will vary and will include steam generation, steam usage, cogeneration, flares, tankage, electricity, and cooling water. By reducing fuel fired in Utility Boilers, and CO2 production elsewhere, CO2 emissions from the plant will be reduced. Specific items to be reviewed include flare gas recovery, steam traps, LP Steam turbines, process steam generators, HRSG supplemental firing, tank nitrogen blanketing, motors, vapor recovery, and water cooled exchangers.
