Biofuels process development is exploding due to high crude oil prices, desire for energy independence, and government subsidy. Many challenges exist in design of economic processes, including selective production of targeted fuels, scaling considerations to cope with limited collection radius, processing characteristics of select feedstocks, feedstock drying and water removal from final products, reaction pathways to designer fuels. Included are both metabolic engineering and bioprocessing, as well as thermochemical / catalytic treatment of biomass feedstocks. Please note that some presentations are not available for webcasting.
