Membrane reactors are multiphase reactors integrating a catalytic reaction (such as reforming reactions for hydrogen production) and a separation through a membrane in a single unit. This combination of process steps results in a high degree of process integration/intensification. The aim of this session is to highlight the recent advances for the different types of membrane reactors available ranging from packed bed to fluidized bed, from micro reactors to bio-membrane reactors, membrane reactors for distributive feeding, membrane reactors for pure hydrogen production etc. Presenters are encouraged to submit in the above technological areas or in any other areas that apply to the general advancement in membrane reactor operations.
