The syngas composition & purity requirements differ significantly for different applications. Depending on the end application of the syngas, the required configurations could be from a simple scheme to a very complex and capital intensive one. As the size of the syngas derivative units are getting much larger in scale- there is all the more the need to minimize the complexity & the cost of producing syngas- which is major contributor in the overall economics.
This presentation will examine the challenges in design and relative economics of various syngas configurations for different applications including world scale Methanol, Ammonia, Oxo-syngas, CO & GTL plants. It will also include key measures in energy savings including co-production of Methanol & Ammonia & their benefits.
