2021 Western Student Regional Conference

The 2021 AIChE Western Student Regional Conference will be held virtually and hosted by the University of California, Irvine & University of California, Riverside AIChE Student Chapters.  We hope to see you there! 

Conference Registration

All attendees, including competition participants and spectators, must register in order to participate in the conference.  Registration will be offered at a rate of $10 USD per person.

In addition to registering for the conference, the conference planning team asks that you please separately register to participate in the competitions.  Read on for more information including deadlines, sign up forms, and more.

ChemE Jeopardy Competition

• Deadline: Sign up by 11:59 PM PDT on Wednesday, April 28, 2021

• Info: Teams can have a maximum of 4 team members plus an alternate; chapters may enter a maximum of 2 teams into the competition

• Awards: $200 USD for 1st Place Team + automatic qualification to participate in the ChemE Jeopardy Competition at the 2021 Annual Student Conference; $100 USD for 2nd Place Team; All prizes sponsored by Omega Chi Epsilon

Student Poster Competition

• Deadline: Submit an abstract by Thursday, April 29, 2021, 9:00 AM PDT

• Info: Individual competitors will present their research in poster format to judges and spectators

• Awards: $200 USD 1st Place Prize, $100 USD 2nd Place Prize; $50 USD 3rd Place Prize;  All prizes sponsored by Omega Chi Epsilon
• Submit an abstract

Student Technical Presentation Competition (STPC)

formerly known as the Student Paper Competition

• Deadline: Submit an absract by Thursday, April 29, 2021, 9:00 AM PDT
• Info: Individual competitors will present their research in PowerPoint presentation format for ~15 minutes and then answer questions from a panel of judges
• Awards: $200 USD 1st Place Prize + qualification to represent the Western Region at the 2021 Annual Student Conference STPC, $100 USD 2nd Place Prize; $50 USD 3rd Place Prize; All prizes sponsored by AIChE ScaleUp Sponsors
• Submit an abstract

AIChE Chem-E-Car Competition

• Deadline: Sign up is now closed

• Awards: $200 USD for 1st Place Team; $100 USD for 2nd Place Team; The top 3 teams from the Western Region will earn a qualifying spot for the 2021 Annual Student Conference Chem-E-Car Competition; Only 1 entry per school, via this qualifying procedure, will be invtied to compete in the Annual event;  All prizes sponsored by AIChE ScaleUp Sponsors
