AIChE, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, has announced that June C. Wispelwey, Executive Director and CEO, has decided to retire effective April 20, 2022.
During her tenure as Executive Director and CEO, June has positioned AIChE favorably for sustainable future growth. She has helped AIChE reach many important milestones and has lifted the Institute to a pre-eminent position within the global chemical enterprise.
Our next Executive Director and CEO will build upon these strengths to further achieve AIChE’s aspiration which is to inspire a safe, connected, and inclusive community Doing a World of Good as:
- The Global Leader of the chemical engineering profession
- The Center for lifelong professional and personal growth
- The Foremost Catalyst in applying our expertise to sustainably meet societal needs.
In accordance with AIChE’s Constitution and Bylaws, the Board of Directors will select the next Executive Director and CEO. Advising the board of directors is a search committee composed of current AIChE board members and past presidents of the Institute along with the executive search firm, Heidrick & Struggles.
