AIChE's Institute for Sustainability (IfS) has various projects related to sustainability, including:
- Sustainable Engineering Forum - an organization of individuals that focuses on the dissemination of information about sustainability and technology. Join nearly 2000 engineering professionals in spearhead programming in the interdisciplinary area of sustainability and sustainable systems.
- Center for Sustainable Technology Practices - an organization of companies that conducts industry relevant, technically and societally important, pre-competitive projects identified by its industry representatives.
- AIChE Sustainability Index - benchmarks well-defined performance metrics and indicators, including SH&E performance, innovation, and societal measures.
