Akshay Deshmukh
Akshay is a postdoctoral associate in the Lienhard Research Group at MIT. Akshay is currently working on the development of thermodynamic models for solvent-driven water extraction. His primary research interests center on the heat and mass transfer analysis of novel separations processes in the broader context of energy-efficient desalination and organic separations. Prior to joining the group, Akshay received his PhD from Yale University in Chemical & Environmental Engineering, where he worked on modeling membrane-based separations processes, and his BA and MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge. Akshay also interned in the UK Parliament as an Ashok Kumar Fellow, working with scientific advisers to coauthor a briefing on nuclear security for MPs.
