Dr. Amr Ibrahim graduated from the Chemical Engineering Department/Arizona State University in 2018. His doctoral research, supervised by Professor Jerry Lin, focused on the synthesis and characterization of graphene oxide membranes for gas separation. He also worked on other membrane projects involving MOF-5, ZIF-8, and MFI zeolite for gas separation and pervaporation. Additionally, Dr. Ibrahim contributed to a project aimed at harvesting energy from microalgae, converting it into pure hydrogen or hydrogen-rich syngas and liquid fuels using pyrolysis and gasification. After graduation, Dr. Ibrahim returned to his home country, where he served as an assistant professor at Suez University for four years, teaching both graduate and undergraduate engineering courses. In 2022, he returned to the United States to join the University at Buffalo, SUNY, and Professor Miao Yu as a postdoctoral associate and is currently working on an innovative project for hydrogen production through the thermal decomposition of ammonia.
