Andrea Landázuri

I am a Chemical Engineering Full Professor at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), Ecuador. I hold a Masters degree and PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Environmental Engineering, from the University of Arizona, USA. I have more than 12 years of experience in scientific research and products and process development for food, environmental, vegan cosmetics, occupational health, and second generation biorefinery applications. I enjoy writing scientific articles in a creative way. I founded the GICAS Research Group (Engineering, Applied Sciences & Simulation Group, in English) in 2015. We promote green process engineering and we recover high added-value compounds for environmental, food, cosmetic, nutraceutical and biomedical applications. We develop our projects within Biorefinery, Circular Economy, Zero Waste and Sustainability concepts. Creativity, innovation, multi, inter- and transdisciplinary work, supported by practice and modeling are key aspects in GICAS Lab USFQ.
