Anshaj Ronghe is a Ph.D. graduate from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He worked under the supervision of Prof. K. Ganapathy Ayappa in the Department of Chemical Engineering. His work involves employing molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory calculations to examine the potential for nanoporous graphene for water purification, enhanced evaporation, liquid mixture separation, and gas separation. He has actively collaborated with Prof. Kumar Varoon Agrawal of EPFL, Switzerland, for experimental studies on several projects. At the 2024 AIChE Annual Meeting, Anshaj is going to present his recent findings on the effectiveness of nanoporous graphene for ethanol-water separation with a particular emphasis on bioethanol production and azeotropic separation. The findings presented will attempt to unveil the promising potential of 2D nanoporous graphene for developing energy-efficient and eco-friendly solutions for liquid mixture separations crucial to chemical industries.
