Arif Z. Nelson

I am currently a Postdoctoral Associate at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology working with Professor Patrick Doyle at MIT and Professor Saif Khan at the National University of Singapore. I obtained my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I studied rheology and the design of complex fluids, particularly yield-stress fluids. After spending nearly my entire life in Illinois, I now live and work on the other side of the world in Singapore. My current research is primarily motivated by applying principles of soft matter to the processing and manufacturing of pharmaceutical drugs.
