Arit Das
Arit Das is a 5th year graduate student working in the Polymer Composite and Materials Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Michael J. Bortner in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech (VT). Arit’s research interests lie in the fields of polymer processing and advanced manufacturing. He is currently involved with research on additive manufacturing of semicrystalline polymers, composite processing, rheology of polymer blends for 3D printing, and environmental implications of 3D printed parts. Arit has received multiple awards during his time at Virginia Tech including the Adhesives & Sealants graduate research assistantship and the David Jackson/Bostik Excellence fund award from the Macromolecules Innovation Institute at VT. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Arit received his Bachelors in Engineering degree from Jadavpur University in India where he worked on graphene based nanocomposites
