Azin Padash

Azin Padash received her B.Sc and M.Sc in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Process Design from the University of Tehran in Iran. In 2017, she moved to the U.S. to pursue her doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering. She spent 9 months in Penn State University working on the production of biofuels from kitchen waste. However, she realized she is more passionate to continue working on multiphase flow, which was the subject of her masters thesis. In the summer of 2018, she received her admission from Columbia University, and started working in Prof. Chris Boyce’s lab. Since then, she has further developed her computational modeling skills as well as experimental techniques to study how bubbles rise in complex fluids, such as, fluidized beds and shear thickening fluids. Azin wants to pursue her career in industry after she graduates.
