Basim Abussaud

has obtained his PhD from McGill University in 2007. He is a faculty member in KFUPM since 1995. His research interest includes Developing an Innovative Advanced Oxidation Technology for the Removal of Trace Organics and Bacteria in Water, Dehydrogenation and Alkylation of hydrocarbons and Wastewater treatment using nano-technology. He has 9 patents and many published paper in top journals. Dr. Basim is an active member in MEPEC, EMET and GDA since 2013. He was also a technical committee member for many conferences including EMET and GDA. He is the youth program advisor in both MEPEC and GDA. Dr. Basim has received several awards during his career including Excellence in teaching (twice) and Excellence in advising (thrice). During the last years, he has attended and delivered many workshops. Dr. Basim was the head of delegation for student trips to multiple countries including Germany, China, Malaysia and Singapore.
