Ben McCool
Ben McCool joined the ExxonMobil Research and Engineering in 2005. In his early years at ExxonMobil Process Research and Corporate Strategic Research, Dr. McCool worked on a variety of membrane related projects focusing primarily on the interplay between materials properties and separations performance. From 2009 to 2014, Ben worked at Algenol Biofuels as Senior Vice President of Engineering, where he focused on developing energy efficient technologies for production and purification of biofuels. In 2014, Ben returned to ExxonMobil Corporate Strategic Research. He currently leads efforts aimed at developing low energy conversion and separations technology aimed at methane upgrading. Ben received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and his PhD from the University of Maine. He has over 30 peer reviewed publications and 16 patents in the area of advanced separations technology.
