Mr. Horn attended Monmouth College in Illinois and graduated summa cum laude with B.A.s in applied physics and mathematics. For his master’s in mechanical engineering he attended the University of Illinois while focusing on combustion. Mr. Horn joined BakerRisk in January, 2012 and has been responsible for the experimental testing of large scale vapor cloud explosions (VCEs). He has managed and assisted with numerous testing projects investigating the physics of deflagrations and deflagration to detonation transitions (DDTs). He routinely evaluates blast loads and flame speeds in the development and validation of blast load methodologies, including the Baker-Strehlow-Tang (BST) methodology. Mr. Horn has also performed facility siting studies, consequence analysis, and explosion hazard analysis to predict both internal and external blast loads from explosion scenarios. Mr. Horn is also the BakerRisk corporate Safety Director.
