Camila is a Ph.D. candidate working in the Agricultural Particulates Research Group under Associate Professor Kingsly Ambrose at the Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) Department at Purdue University. She is also a member of the Center for Particulate Products and Processes at Purdue. She received a master's degree in the ABE department studying methods to quantify the effect of surface chemical composition on powder flow at micro and macroscale levels. Her work led to three peer-reviewed publications. In her doctoral project, she is developing a granulation process to control the nutrient release of granular fertilizers. This method intends to follow crop nutrient intake and mitigate soil and water stream contamination due to fertilizer leaching.
