I am a 3rd-year undergraduate student, currently doing my BSc. in Chemistry and Nanotechnology Engineering at Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM). Last year I participated in the iGEM competition with team Tec-Monterrey, developing a project called Breathe-in. It consisted of a mucolytic treatment for Cystic Fibrosis patients, along with a whole-cell biosensor for antibiotic discovery purposes. This year, as a more formal research experience, I joined Alvarez-Trujillo lab, where I am currently the leader of the project which I am presenting during this conference. My current research interests include Synthetic Biology and Microfluidics. I am particularly interested in exploring the application of the latter for SynBio purposes.
