CHARLIE MEYER joined Shell in 1987 as an Associate Research Engineer in the Environmental group at Shell’s Westhollow Technology Center. Charlie has held a variety of technical and managerial roles in Shell, but all have been in the area of water treatment technology and ecological effects of effluent discharges and products. He has been involved in modeling and measurement of emissions from wastewater treatment systems, removal of selenium from refinery wastewater, sediment quality criteria development, effluent toxicity reduction, produced water treatment, effluent risk assessment, and product environmental hazard assessment. Charlie is currently the Global Discipline Manager for Ecotoxicology in Shell Health and is located in Houston, Texas. He obtained his B.S. Ch.E. (1982) degree from University of Missouri – Rolla and Ph.D. Ch.E. (1987) from Rice University.
