Corey Whelehon has been working in process safety since graduating in 2013. His experience includes preparing for and facilitating PHAs, design of Burner Management Systems, performing SIL calculations and developing Safety Requirement Specifications for Safety Instrumented Systems. He has facilitated plant wide HazOps and LOPAs. The critical thinking and process knowledge required in adequately addressing and identifying hazards during a PHA and LOPA process is of personal interest to him. Corey’s interest in the chemical and process safety field stems from his passion for protecting others. Early in life his interest was in public safety. Once in college the passion of protecting others merged with the desire to further understand the molecular world after hearing of multiple accidents in the process industry. These interests grew after taking multiple process safety oriented class in college.
