David Dooley

David Dooley is a Ph.D. student hailing from the Cong Trinh Lab at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. David received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee Tech, where he met the love of his life, Cayla. Together, they have 2 boys: a 2-year-old and a 2-month-old. David's research is in synthetic and systems biology, with a focus on advancing CRISPR-Cas antimicrobials for combatting antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. When he's not working in the lab, you'll find David consuming any professional or collegiate sport on television or playing with his boys, or both at the same time (best case scenario)!
