Edward Liu

Edward Liu got his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and had been an assistant research scientist at the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University during 2010-2015. Edward Liu joined Wood Group since 2015, focusing on safety analysis and risk assessment deliverables for engineering design projects in Oil & Gas industry. Edward is currently the president at Wanergy Corp. His interests include CFD-approached fire and explosion risk assessment, and risk-based facility siting studies. Dr. Liu is also interested in bridging the industry applications and the progress in academic research, such as performance-based gas detection using CFD simulations. Edward also participated in incident investigation, such as to determine the extent of an accidental gas release by using CFD simulations on gas dispersion, and to determine the trajectory of an LPG vessel BELVE process by using image analysis and consequence modeling.
