Eleni Chatzilakou is a PhD researcher and teaching fellow at Imperial College London, specializing in Biomedical Engineering. Her cutting-edge research in biosensing technologies aims to revolutionize point-of-care skin cancer diagnosis using advanced techniques involving novel bioreceptors and biofunctionalized microneedles. Holding a MEng in Chemical Engineering, Eleni graduated with first-class honours, while she has also gained valuable research experience at the Spanish National Research Council, where she contributed to the development of a wearable multisensory system for personalized healthcare. Additionally, Eleni has interned at Pharmathen SA and the National Centre of Scientific Research “Demokritos,” working on pharmaceutical formulations and nanotechnology. She has a proven track record of leadership in various engineering projects and has been recognized for her contributions at international conferences. As an active member of several professional organizations and a committee member for Women in STEM at Imperial, continues to advance her field through innovative research and initiatives.
