Gilsa Monteiro
Gilsa Monteiro is a Chemical Engineer, with a master and a PhD in Nuclear Engineering. Working for the Brazil's major oil and gas company, she accumulated 20 years of experience with process safety management, performance indicators, accident investigation, process safety training development, and qualitative and semi-quantitative risk studies (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA) for both the upstream and downstream sectors, providing technical advice to different business units. In 2022, Gilsa Monteiro joined DNV as a Principal HSE Consultant for Risk management in the Energy Systems sector, working in Brazil. In DNV she has performed a number of accident investigations, prepared and delivery training in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Studies, and supported Oil & Gas companies in developing their Human Factors approaches, in accordance with the IOGP Report 454 and the Brazilian Regulator's expectations, including activities in HFE (Human Factors Engineering) as well as HRA (Human Reliability Analysis).
