Dr. Ginu R. George is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Manufacturing Science Division, Chemical Process Scale-up Group (CPSU), at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Before joining ORNL, Ginu worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Propulsion Technology, German Aerospace Centre, Germany. He earned his PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from Clausthal University of Technology, and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Duesseldorf University of Applied Sciences, both in Germany. Ginu's research primarily focuses on the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics in the chemical processing Industry. In his PhD thesis, Ginu presented a unique particle-resolved Computational Fluid Dynamics (PRCFD) model to investigate the transport processes in slender packed bed reactors made of metallic foam pellets, and it was conducted in collaboration with an industrial partner. Ginu is interested in implementing the latest modeling and simulation techniques for the development of innovative chemical reactors and their performance optimization.
