Guanhua Xun is a PhD student of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined Dr. Huimin Zhao's research group since 2019. His research interests are focusing on the development of novel molecular diagnostic tools for clinical uses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked on developing a rapid, scalable, portable diagnostic system to detect SARS-CoV-2 virus from saliva samples in a multiplexed manner. Now, he continues to improve this system into a user-friendly commercial product.
