5th year Ph.D. candidate, working with Prof. James A. Dumesic and Prof. George W. Huber at department of chemical engineering in UW-Madison. I Studied sugar (or cellulose) upgrading to produce value-added commodity chemicals, such as bioactive ingredients, organic pigments, monomers, recyclable polymers, and liquid fuels and designed the economical biomass upgrading process by collaboration with Dr. Ishan Bajaj in Prof. Christos T. Maravelias's group and Min Soo Kim in Prof. George W. Huber's group. I worked on (i) development of kinetic model for liquid phase catalytic reactions, (ii) fundamentals in organic chemistry, total-synthesis, chemical separation strategies, (iii) characterization of new chemicals and polymers, and (iv) analysis of potential markets for the application of new chemicals and polymers.
