Hongjun Park

Dr. Hongjun Park is a catalyst engineer, materials chemist, volunteer leader, and tennis enthusiast. Currently, he is a Direct Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University with Prof. Justin Notestein. Hongjun’s postdoctoral work focuses on the future of hydrogen energy with versatile designs in catalytic materials. Previously at UT Austin, he developed new, single-crystalline approaches for lithium-ion battery industry with Prof. Arumugam Manthiram. Hongjun received rigorous training at KAIST under Prof. Ryong Ryoo. His achievements are numerous as of 2024, with accolades like the 1st Place Award at the #RSC Poster Conference in Catalysis category, 1st Place Award in Oral Presentation by the KAIST Chemistry Department, and a CIRTL Associate Certificate for Inclusive Teaching prowess at Northwestern. Committed to propelling DEI in chemical science and engineering, Hongjun thrives in a multicultural lab environment, delivering over 30 presentations on 4 continents, and exploring science and technology worldwide.
