Hyun-Ro Lee is currently a Postdoctoral researcher in Applied Science Research Institute at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Republic of Korea. His primary areas of research are bio-colloid, bio-interfacial science, and membrane biophysics. His academic research explores the lipid dynamics at the two-dimensional biological interfaces, such as plasma membranes, lung surfactant membranes, multilamellar lipid matrix, and lipid droplet surface. He received bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from KAIST. His thesis work, recently published in Small (16, 2002541, 2020), describes an ultra-stable freestanding lipid membrane array that enables the visualization of the entire membrane remodeling processes in real time through fluorescence microscopy. His recent projects involve the spatiotemporal assemblies of signaling-associated biomolecules in the plasma membrane, lipid remodeling of skin lipid matrix for drug delivery, and crystallization on the lipid droplet surface.
