Prof. Hyung Chul Ham is currently an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering of Inha University since 2019. He earned his B.S. and M.S. from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Korea University and KAIST, respectively. After working at KIST for four years as a research staff scientist, he pursued and gained a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering of the University of Texas at Austin in 2011 under the guidance of Prof. Gyeong S. Hwang. Dr. Ham joined KIST as a senior research staff scientist of Fuel Cell Research Center in 2011 and was promoted to a principal research staff scientist in 2015. His main research interest is the rational design of nanocatalysts for energy conversion and storage (fuel cells, water electrolysis, H2 production and biomass refinery) using the state-of-the art atomistic modeling (such as DFT, molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo approaches) and machine learning methods.
