After growing up mostly in the southwest United States, Andy graduated from Michigan Technological University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He joined Dow Corning/Dow Chemical in 2014 as a product development intern working in Si-Organics Business and Technology Incubator where he researched 3D printable silicones and gas membrane technology using silicones. He joined 2015 full time as a Process R&D Engineer in HTV Silicone Elastomers. Since then, he has been granted a patent for a 3D printable silicone and has built expertise in several areas including: Metal silanolate catalyzed siloxane polymerization, Filler incorporation and treatment into high viscosity siloxane materials, Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling, and RTV & HTV elastomer technology including base and compound formulation and production.
