James Torres

James E. Torres is the Senior Process Safety Advisor at the Grace facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After receiving B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, James has spent a thirty-four year career with diverse assignments in Applications Research, Customer Technical Service, Process Evaluation, Corporate Process Design, Process Development, Reactive Hazards Evaluation, and Process Safety. For the last thirty-three years, James has served as a member or technical advisor of the site Emergency Response Team. James is the recipient of eight patents and numerous technology awards. He is currently a exida Certified Functional Safety Expert and a member of the exida Advisory Board.
