Dr. Jihoon Seo is an assistant professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Clarkson University, USA. He has over 10 years of experience in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) and post-CMP cleaning. Dr. Seo received his Bachelor of Science degree in materials science and engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea in 2010, and his Ph.D. degree in energy engineering from HYU in 2017. Dr. Seo has worked on many industry-sponsored research projects in various fields ranging from fundamental principles (e.g., surface chemistry, colloidal chemistry, nanotechnology, and electrochemistry) to practical applications (e.g., CMP and post-CMP cleaning). In particular, throughout his career, his research interests have focused on the development of CMP slurries and post-CMP cleaning solutions through a fundamental understanding of colloid and surface chemistry, liquid-solid interface chemistry, and electrochemistry of various metallic and dielectric thin films and heterogeneous structures containing them.
