Joseph Peterson

postdoc: University of Cambridge, DAMTP PhD: UCSB, Chemical Engineering BS: University of MN, Chemical Engineering BA: Northwestern College, Applied Mathematics My research is primarily focused on constitutive modeling of complex fluids, especially in relation to flow instabilities like shear induced demixing and shear banding. More recently, I have found that the tools I use for studying complex fluids are uniquely suited to challenges that emerge in modelling population dynamics of biological systems. I am a faculty candidate this year, and my vision for future research involves a continuation of both subject areas.
