Junyao Xie received the B.Eng. degree and the M.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering from the China University of Petroleum-Beijing, Beijing, China, in 2014 and 2017, respectively. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. His current research interests include constrained moving horizon estimation and internal model control of distributed parameter systems, transfer learning, and approximate Bayesian inference with applications in soft sensor development of energy systems.
