Kathy is the HAZOP LOPA Advisor for BP Upstream. She has 30+ years’ experience working in engineering, production, safety, and risk analysis. Kathy has focused on process safety for 20+ years leading, teaching, and developing guidance with primary focus on HAZOPs, LOPAs, and Incident Investigations. She enjoys working with teams to develop solutions to reduce risk. She is a champion of systems-oriented thinking, employee involvement, and tracking actions to completion. Kathy has held many AIChE roles including: Chemical Technology Operating Council 2012-2018, Global Congress on Process Safety Chair in 2010, Safety and Health Division Chair in 2009. She was active on the Texas Chemical Council Safety Seminar Planning Committee from 1995-2010. Kathy earned her B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology Cooperative Program. She is a PE in Texas and an AIChE fellow.
