Kawnish Kirtania
Dr. Kawnish Kirtania is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He has been working on developing sustainable technologies to produce energy and chemicals for more than 12 years. His work involves thermochemical conversion to produce biochar, biohydrogen, biooil, syngas, transport fuel and chemicals with system scale assessment (LCA and TEA). After his PhD from Monash University, Australia, he worked in Sweden on pilot scale demonstration of transport biofuel production. He has published more than 40 peer reviewed journal papers with two book chapters (Elsevier) and made more than 30 conference contributions. His current projects are funded by USAID, NASEM (USA), EPRC (BD), BANBEIS (BD) and Unilever (BD).
