Dr. Kirti M. Yenkie is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering (ChE) at Rowan University with 10+ years of experience working in the Process Systems Engineering area with applications focusing on sustainability and environmental resource management. She is leading the Sustainable Design & Systems Medicine Lab, which has the capabilities to work with major programming and simulation tools. She holds a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois-Chicago, MTech in ChE from IIT Bombay, and BTech in ChE from LIT Nagpur. Her expertise includes mathematical modeling, optimization, programming, uncertainty analysis, and sustainability evaluation. She was selected as one of the 20 Outstanding Young Chemical Engineering Educators by the CACHE (Computer Aids for Chemical Engineering) Committee for developing innovative computational lab exercises in courses such as Process Control and Applied Optimization. She currently serves as the Director (2020-22) for the AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) Environmental Division.
