Global Product Manager Safety Systems ABB Process Automation Control Technologies Luis Durán has a BSEE and MBA from Universidad Simon Bolívar in Caracas Venezuela and is a certified Functional Safety Engineer (FSE) by TÜV Rheinland. Luis Durán has 25 years of experience in process automation, in areas ranging from application development, project design and Project Management of Basic Process Control Systems (BPCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) as well as Front End Design of process simulation and management execution software applied to production improvement in refining, petrochemical and upstream processes. Previously he held multiple roles ranging from Product Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager with ABB, Technical Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager and Brand Director with Triconex (now part of Schneider) as well as Application Engineer and Account manager with Honeywell and Aspen Technology. Luis Durán has published several papers in instrumentation and safety and critical control Systems.
