Mark Manton

Mark Manton is a Principal Consultant for ABS Consulting in the UK. After receiving a PhD in Chemical Engineering at MIT, Mark worked for Shell for 25 years in Amsterdam (NL), The Hague (NL), Bintulu (Malaysia), Rouen (France) and Chester & London (UK). His last Shell role was as Process Safety Manager of Stanlow refinery. During that time he was part of, and chaired for the last 2 year, UKPIA’s Process Safety Leadership Network, the main interface on process safety issues between the sector and the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and EA (Environment Agency). The PSLN covered topics such as Human Factors, Buncefield follow-up, and environmental risk assessments. Mark joined ABS Consulting 3 years ago and has since consulted with Shell (projects in Denmark, Holland, Nigeria and Venezuela), BSSE, Abu Dhabi Refining, Valero, Wood Group, Calor, Merck, GKN, CEPSA and the Kuwait Petroleum amongst others.
