Masayuki Horio

Masayuki Horio is Professor, Emeritus, of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology since 2008, also Head of Research Institute for Symbiotic Energy Society, since 2020. Author of Chapter 2 Hydrodynamics in "Circulating Fluidized Bed" edited by Grace, Avidan and Knowlton,1997. Also, the co-editor of Fluidization Handbook (1999; in Japanese). PhD Nagoya Univ. 1974, Post Doc. studies at WVU. At TUAT he served as Professor of Chem. Eng. over 1984-2008. He also taught energy & environment policy and STS policy in Ryukoku Univ. (Kyoto) as Professor Policy Sci. for 2010-2015. After retirement from TUAT, he served as a Director of a Program “Community-based Actions for Anti-global Warming and Environment-friendly Society” of JST-RISTEX (FY2008-2014) to tackle socio-technical sustainability transition issues. There he ran 16 projects all over Japan. He is still active in the sustainability and STS fields not to mention fluidization and reaction engineering.
