Merrill Childs

Merrill received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He has worked for Cargill for 38 years in various capacities including plant operations, automation and engineering. The last 8 years he has focused on process safety and the prevention and mitigation of combustible dust explosions. He was a member of the CCPS (Center for Chemical Process Safety) committee that authored the book, Guidelines for Combustible Dust Hazard Analysis that was published in 2017
