Dr. Mohammed Aatif Shahab is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At MIT, he leads process integration and plantwide software design with HMI for continuous mRNA manufacturing. His PhD research at IIT Madras investigated human mental models using advanced physiological sensors to enhance training effectiveness and human-machine collaboration, a key theme of Industry 5.0. His research interests encompass Industry 5.0, digital twins, cognitive engineering, and human-machine collaboration, with applications in process systems. His work has been showcased at leading conferences and published in high-impact journals. Recognized for his significant contributions to research, Dr. Shahab was a finalist at the 4th Annual MIT Research Slam and a recipient of the IIT Madras Institute Research Award. He is also a key member of the MIT Library Systems Committee, where he helps develop cutting-edge library systems and promotes open access to digital resources.
