Nuno Azevedo

I am the leader of the FISH Group@BEL@LEPABE (www.fish-feup.pt), at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. The research of the group revolves around in situ hybridization employing nucleic acid mimics, an expertise that has been developed over the past 10 years and that during the last five years has been also focused on the delivery of nucleic acid mimics to microbial cells for treatment purposes. I’m also the Principal Investigator of the ongoing European Project DelNAM (www.delnam.fe.up.pt), which aims to develop an innovative solution to fight and solve the crisis of bacterial resistance to antibiotics, through the delivery of NAMs into bacteria.
